Hadrian's Wall
Hadrian's Wall was built by the Roman army to separate the barbarians from the Romans, on orders of the Emperor Hadrian in the years following his visit to Britain in AD122. It was 73 miles or 117.5 kms long. It was made a World Heritage Site in 1987.
